Hey, I'm Kayla of CrochetByKay. I am the sole owner, crochet-er and writer for this blog. I live in central NY. I am married to a wonderful man and the proud turtle and cat mom.

I first started to crochet when I was in 8th grade, my dad was using it as a way to get us to sit down and do something as a family (me, my brother and himself). At the time I wasn't really into it, fast forward 5 years to my freshman year of college and that completely changes. In my first year of college is struggles a lot with homesickness and just plain fear of disappointment, and one of the few things that could take my mind away from that was crochet. It started as a way to relax and clear my head and now has turned into a full blown hobby of mine.

My goal with this is to (1) encourage other people to crochet and explore the fabric arts and (2) showcase some of the things I have made both with crochet and my sewing machine.
