MOTIVATION

As many of you know i go to the gym regularly and have started and new diet in the hopes of having a healthier lifestyle. Well my students also know about this journey that I am on and they check in with me to make sure I am actually going to the gym and eating healthy. Like seriously they do, every day they make sure im eating whatever fruits and vegetables are being served and sometimes they even tell me that I need to finish all my veggies before I can have seconds on anything else HAHA. One of my students in particular I think had made it her job to hold me accountable for going to the gym.

Every day this girl comes in I greet her, "Good morning, how are you today?" and usually she replies with "good morning miss Kayla, im good. Did you go to the gym yesterday?" Now, I could lie to her because how could she know if I really went to the gym or not, but I don't. Every single day she asks me, and every single day I tell her the truth. Whether I did or didn't go Im honest with her. If I say "yes i did." she usually give me a high five and if i say "no i didn't" I get nothing and she walks away from me with a fake frown on her face.

So today after snack, this little girl comes up to me and asks me if I am going to the gym tonight. I told her yes because I planned on it (and i did, and hour later and here i am sore and typing this story), and she goes in her bag and grabs a sheet of stickers. She comes back to me and says "you went to the gym everyday this week miss Kayla, you get a sticker".

When I tell you I was soooo proud to get that sticker! Now I know how my children feel when i give them stickers for being special helpers or having an extra good day. There are some days where i really lack the motivation to go to the gym and stick to my diet, but things like this make it worth it. At least I know my students know how to lead a healthy lifestyle and are supportive of me.

Creative goals for september

My main goal this month is to be more creative and to start building a stock for what I hope will become a table at the famers market...
