Oddly enough I have never been asked WHY I crochet...People always ask me "How can you do that?" and "What are you making now?" but no one is ever interested in WHY I crochet. And even thought no one has asked I have decided to share it with you all anyways.
To answer your first question, yes I do make money from my crochet. In fact on a good order I make a rather decent amount of money, but money is not the reason why I crochet. It is a very pleasant part of my crochet "business" but it is most definitely not one of the main reasons I crochet.
One of the reasons I crochet is the peace it gives me. When I am feeling stressed, angry, anxious or even happy sometimes, it helps put my mind at ease. Its almost and instant stress reliever. Just looking up patterns helps to put my mind at ease. If you are looking for a hobby to help with stress, I would highly recommend crochet.
In all honestly main reason I crochet is getting to see people use/wear my products. I love walking into someone house and seeing there baby covered but sleeping soundly with a blanket I make for them. I love seeing people out in the winter wearing hats and scarves I made for them. I love seeing people post and comment on picture of things I have made. It makes all the time I take well worth it.
